The annual London Reunion tool place in the Guoman Thistle Hotel. Over 60 people attended, unfortunately due to illness our President, Andrew Stroughair was unable to travel, however former President, Arthur Ennis deputised very ably for Andrew.
The group first met for pre-drinks which gives everyone an opportunity to mingle and renew old acquaintances prior to going in to lunch. Canon Richard Broadberry then got the proceeding underway by saying grace.
Following an excellent lunch the Headmaster, Chris Woods outlined the progress made by the College during the year and reminded those present of the future celebration for the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the fairer sex to Wesley, the Dinner being scheduled for First October, Founders Day, the venue the Radison Hotel.
The Chairman of the Board of Governors Rory O’Ferrell and the Chairman of the Board of Management John Harris were welcomed to the function. Also present was the former college science teacher, Guy Milner, a pleasant surprise for many of his pupils who enjoyed his classes during the swinging sixties. Travelling from Sweden was Billy Butt, always happy to remember his Wesley days and keep in touch with School friends at the function. John and Allison Coy travelled from Scotland. Ernest Smith, a regular attendee, sent his apologies.
Before bringing the event to a conclusion Arthur Ennis thanked Helen Holland and her helpers Valerie Grimes and Alison Galbraith for their efforts in organizing such an enjoyable successful event.
On the Sunday morning many attended the morning service at the Chapel Royal in the Tower of London and were impressed by the choir and music.
